My Thoughts on B.A.P’s “Young, Wild & Free” Music Video

After being on hiatus due to their company dispute, B.A.P makes their return with “Young, Wild & Free.”

The group is also back with their signature loud sound, going with a rock-rap track. I like that it’s a nice change from the typical pop or ballad songs in mainstream Korean music. It’s not really my type of song, but I can still appreciate it. I’d say the highlight of the song is the hook (as it should be), but Daehyun’s vocals there really make the whole song.

The video certainly has a lot more mature, epic look compared to their previous videos, performing much of it in dim/flashing lighting. I don’t really have anything to rave about, but at times, the video seems a bit excessive like the random car circling scene. And although I think the splattering paint everywhere does complement the “Young, Wild & Free” concept, it just seemed like a sudden contrast to all the dark visuals in the rest of the video. In any case, it’s nice to see a hardworking group back on the scene.
